Lead DevOps Engineer
Aquent’s Staffing Technology Division is seeking a passionate and experienced hands-on Lead DevOps Engineer who will drive innovation, provide leadership, and mentor our talented team members to deliver cutting-edge application solutions.
In this role, you'll work collaboratively with software engineering teams, provide leadership and mentorship, and play a pivotal role in deploying and operating our systems. You'll make prioritization decisions to choose high-impact efforts and lead the team in automating and streamlining our operations and processes. Additionally, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations, as well as troubleshooting and resolving issues in our development, testing, and production environments.
Our primary focus is to build strong relationships with developers, security experts, and customer support teams to ensure our customers can enjoy working with the innovative solutions we create.
Here is what you need to have:
Senior-Level Experience: A minimum of 5 years of senior-level experience in DevOps or Infrastructure is required, showcasing your extensive knowledge and expertise in this field.
Leadership Experience: Demonstrated leadership experience where you have led or mentored team members, and have made strategic decisions to drive projects forward.
AWS Expertise: Strong experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), demonstrating your ability to effectively manage and optimize cloud infrastructure.
Cloud Services: In-depth experience with AWS tools and services, as well as proficiency in Google Cloud.
Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation and Terraform, reflecting your ability to design and maintain infrastructure using code.
Kubernetes & Docker: Proficiency in Kubernetes and Docker, and the ability to lead and make strategic decisions regarding its implementation.
General Linux Server Administration: Hands-on experience working with Linux servers for basic administrative and configuration tasks.
Automation Champion: A strong desire and ability to lead automation efforts and drive automation strategies across the team using tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, etc.
CI/CD Expertise: Extensive experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) build tools, such as Jenkins (preferred), GitHub Actions, and Bamboo.
Scripting Languages: Proficiency in scripting languages or tools such as Python, Bash, Ruby, and JavaScript.
Highly Available Systems: In-depth knowledge of highly available systems and expertise in monitoring/logging solutions, e.g., Prometheus, SumoLogic, Grafana, etc.
Application Deployment Patterns: A deep understanding of application deployment patterns and best practices.

Leadership and Mentoring: Provide leadership and mentorship to the DevOps team, guiding them in best practices, strategies, and automation efforts.
Build Strong Relationships: Cultivate relationships with internal technology partners, empowering developers and fostering collaboration.
Security Assurance: Collaborate with engineers and security experts to ensure the security of connected services, identifying and addressing vulnerabilities.
Automation Excellence: Lead automation initiatives, automating deployment, maintenance, and support tasks to improve operational efficiency.
