Reliability Tester I

Job Summary

The associate at this level is expected, with direct supervision, to perform specified tests using various equipment and hand tools under a controlled test protocol by performing the following duties:

Essential Job Functions *

• Works under direct supervision
• Conducts routine tests of new components, assemblies and systems based on test criteria as established by policies, procedures or written test plans
• Works to ensure project schedules are met
• Uses test fixtures to carry out various testing requirements
• Utilizes test equipment to perform reliability testing
• Accurately collects data and test results in support of creating reports
• Assists higher level staff as needed
• Effectively communicate through emails, chats, verbal calls, and meetings.
• Experience using power tools and hand tools
• Ability to create small test setups for equipment using wood or metal stock
• Identify and troubleshoot equipment failures
• Ability to multitask and abruptly change work priorities
• Attention to detail during testing. Ability to observe, make notes and document anomalies

Education & Experience

• Highschool Diploma   
• 0-3 Years in related field

• Strong team player skills
• able to work well with others and support internal/external customer needs
• work closely as a unit with Reliability Engineer

• Identifies necessary equipment and supplies
• Constructs basic experimental or prototype devices/circuits to meet requirements
• Ability to take direction and ownership of assigned work from inception to delivery
• Ability to understand and apply testing standards.
• Demonstrates basic mechanical aptitude with a willingness to be hands-on to ensure the delivery of results
• Ability to identify problems and communicate information clearly to peers
• Ability to learn new software applications

Competencies – Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Basic testing experience; tests electro-mechanical components, parts and systems with supervisory technical oversight.
• Good team player skills; able to work well with others and support internal/external customer needs.
• An understanding of basic trouble shooting, problem solving and testing procedures.
• Ability to handle basic issues and problems and referring more complex issues to higher-level staff.
• Accountability for maintaining a high level of integrity on all work performed.
• Builds good cross-functional relationships within a team environment.
