As a Sales Associate, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service to chefs, restaurant owners, and cooking enthusiasts. The successful candidate will have a proactive and collaborative approach, ensuring smooth transactions, resolving customer inquiries, and maintaining a positive shopping experience.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Customer Assistance:
    • Assist professional chefs, restaurant owners, and cooking enthusiasts with their purchases at the counter.
    • Proactively communicate and collaborate with vendors and customers to facilitate special orders.
  • Issue Resolution:
    • Resolve customer complaints promptly and effectively.
    • Process refunds and exchanges with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Independent Work:
    • Work independently or with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and responsibility.
  • Transaction Handling:
    • Bag purchases to ensure safe transport.
    • Accept payments, ensuring accuracy in prices and quantities, and provide receipts to every customer.
    • Balance the cash register and generate reports for credit and debit sales.
  • Clean Workspace:
    • Maintain a clean and organized workspace to enhance the shopping environment.
  • Customer Interaction:
    • Occasionally visit customers to strengthen customer relationships.
  • Skills and Attributes:
    • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Energetic personality with a customer-focused approach.
    • Foodservice industry experience is a plus.
  • Multi-Tasking and Learning:
    • Ability to multi-task and learn quickly in a dynamic retail environment.
    • Computer literacy is a must.

 

COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficiently; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with vendors, customers, and team members effectively.
  • Proven capability to multitask, learn quickly, and adapt to the dynamic demands of a retail environment.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or GED, or equivalent Military or practical experience.
  • 1 – 2 years of previous cashier and customer service experience is required.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.

The range provided represents the national average pay range for this position and is considered to be a general guideline. Pay for this position will reflect the candidate’s unique qualifications and may be higher or lower than the range provided based on employee geographic location. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other local, state, and federal law.
 

In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark’s’ benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc.  Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
