The Wistar Institute has an immediate opening for an on-site Managing Director to lead and manage the day-to-day operation and supervision of support staff of the Proteomics Shared Resource.  The position will include consultation with users on experimental design and data interpretation, analysis of LC-MS/MS data, and perform hands-on proteomics experiments as needed.  Proteomic analyses include, but are not limited to, global quantitative profiling (label-free, SILAC and TMT), characterization of protein posttranslational modifications, global PTM enrichment, and crosslinking MS on Thermo mass spectrometers.  Related responsibilities will include method optimizations, development of new proteomic methods, and monitoring pertinent scientific literature.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. with experience with LC-MS/MS based proteomic analyses on Thermo mass spectrometers and pertinent data analysis software.  A highly motivated individual with a B.Sc./M.Sc. degree with extensive experience in LC-MS/MS based proteomics will also be considered. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.  Knowledge of cancer biology is preferred.
