Lab-Price- Post-Doctoral Fellow
A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Alexander Price at The Wistar Institute. The Price lab investigates cellular RNA processing events hijacked by tumor-causing viruses. Example research projects include investigating how viruses regulate expression of their own genes temporally and spatially within an infected cell, and ways in which viruses evade detection by the cellular innate immune system. Candidates with strong interest in gene regulation, RNA biology, RNA/Protein interactions, fluorescent microscopy, sequencing technologies, and molecular virology are encouraged to apply. A strong background in molecular biology techniques is required. Experience with either RNA sequencing, third generation long-read sequencing technologies (Oxford Nanopore), confocal microscopy, or previous experience utilizing human viruses would be highly desired.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) degree and must have at least one first author peer-reviewed publication. In addition to the online application, interested individuals should apply by submitting all of the following to Dr. Alexander Price, firstname.lastname@example.org:
- A CV with publication list (published and in preparation)
- One-page cover letter detailing their scientific interest in the Price lab and outlining potential interest areas for postdoctoral research projects
- Names and contacts for three references
