Founded in 1854, the Baltimore Jewish Community Center (JCC) has evolved into an organization of vitality and diversity. In keeping with its Jewish values, the JCC is committed to enhancing the general welfare of the total community.  If you are looking for a job where the work environment is both stimulating and supportive and the mission is focused on promoting and strengthening Jewish life and values, then the JCC could be the place for you.

This summer, the Arts and Culture department within JCamps will be offering two theatre arts camps. The first camp of the summer is Habimah Arts Camp, a multi-disciplinary summer camp giving children, grades from 1st-6th, exposure, and skill-building in both visual and performing arts.  Each camp day consists of several classes within these fields from Baltimore’s finest artists and instructors. The program also incorporates swimming, outdoor time, and field trips. On the final Friday of each 2-week session, campers show off their new skills and what they have learned in their very own showcase, featured on the Gordon stage. Habimah counselors will assist and help support the teaching artists in their classes to help ensure that campers have a successful and enjoyable experience, as well as assist in the smooth run of the final showcase for performers and audience members alike. With the guidance and mentorship of the director, in the afternoons, selected senior counselors will gain valuable arts education experience by leading age-appropriate classes that are within their expertise.

For two four-week sessions, Children’s Theatre Production Camp (CTPC) will offer additional performance production-based summer camps. CTPC Kids (1st and 2nd graders) and CTPC Jr (3rd – 8th ) will prepare full length age appropriate musicals. Each camp day will include musical theatre preparatory classes, auditions, rehearsal, and the final product of a full production.  CTPC Kids will perform on an intimate stage-like space with the basic theatrical elements while CTPC Jr will perform on the Gordon stage.  Both programs also incorporate swimming and field trips. Selected counselors will be working with the director to help run rehearsals, review material with campers, work backstage for the production, and any other duties assigned to them in relation to the show.
