Carnegie Hall seeks a Manager of Event Services to be part of a collaborative team tasked with handling approximately 275 private events per season.  This position is salaried without sales commission. This position reports directly to the Director of Event Services.

 

Tasks & Responsibilities

 

  • Manage external events in Carnegie Hall’s banquet spaces from beginning to end, and work in partnership with Carnegie Hall’s in-house catering team to confirm menus and logistics:

 

    • field inquiries
    • identify space availability
    • conduct site visits
    • coordinate with in-house catering sales team
    • issue space rental contracts
    • communicate with vendors
    • prepare and track space rental invoices
    • interface with client event planners
    • facilitate onsite event execution
    • uphold Carnegie Hall customer service standards.

 

  • Manage internal events for various Carnegie Hall constituents including Development, Marketing, Artistic Programming, Weill Music Institute, Hall Operations, and Human Resources:
    •  Liaise with other departments regarding logistics, menu, décor, and event staffing

 

 Skills & Qualifications

 

  • 4-6 years of experience in event production or cultural venue sales, with proven ability to effectively manage live, onsite events in person
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills
  • Ability to successfully multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and oral, with clarity and tact
  • Professional demeanor with grace under pressure
  • Flexible work schedule including nights weekends, and holidays, with the ability to work long hours on event days
