CardWorks Servicing ("CWS") is one of the largest privately-held provider of outsourcing services for bankcard-related products to banks and non-bank lenders in North America. CWS offers management expertise across the credit spectrum and supports both MasterCard and Visa accounts as well as a variety of private label debit, credit, stored value, and customer bankcards.

Position Summary:

The Director of Data Standards will be part of Visualization Analytics team responsible for interpretation of complex business issues generating multifaceted insights, identifying opportunities to drive business growth and value. This role works in partnership with business leaders to present and generate appropriate insights through Snowflake analytical layer and BI tool like DOMO.   Managing a team of data analysts, this role serves both internal stakeholders and external clients by delivering data products accompanied by business insights. This individual oversees requirement gathering functions that help drive business decisions. Efficiently maintaining and optimizing BI Tool inputs/output is a critical responsibility of this role.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees a team responsible for providing business analysis that support business objectives and decision making
  • Collaborate as a decision making thought-partner for various business units
  • Conducts/participates in meetings with system owners to understand current data and business issues, resolve source data issues and refine transformation rules
  • Participates in opportunity assessment and prioritization across stakeholder, data, analytic, and technical perspectives
  • Educates stakeholders of the capabilities of the product supported by the Data Strategy & Architecture group
  • Collaborates with the Snowflake Data Warehouse and information technology teams to establish connections into BI Data Visualization Tool(s)
  • Defines offerings for opportunities to innovate and improve, including identification of opportunities to standardize, simplify, or reduce redundancy within the product offerings
  • Create/maintain procedures related to critical job functions
  • Oversees adherence to the formal system change processes and participates in making such changes
  • Establishes and enforces comprehensive data validation and monitoring processes
  • Approves the publication of various reports prior to issuance to stakeholders (including finance and
    external clients
  • Identifies potential risk areas within the department and/or organization and communicates these findings to management
  • Maintain/enhance operational staffing models
  • Propose and implement improvements to the staffing models that will improve performance and lower operational expenses

Education and Experience:

  • Seven to ten (7-10) years of data warehouse, business, and data development experience is required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Business or equivalent related field experience is required
  • Strong SQL or Python skillset, including relational database experience
  • Extensive knowledge of analytical concepts and technology
  • Experience with Collibra, Informatica MDM-RDM a plus
  • Consumer financial services background is preferred
  • Experience with Cloud based data architecture and tools such as, Snowflake, BI Tool (e.g. DOMO, Tableau),
  • Experience with data architecture methodologies a plus

  • Demonstrated analytical experience such as data profiling, data analysis, data usage analysis, and business data analysis
  • Deep familiarity with data warehouse technology and implementations at scale
  • Ability to work with data warehouse users, information technology teams and all levels of the organization, including senior management
  • Demonstrated ability to describe the technical concepts of supported products to all levels of the organization
  • Strong communication skills: oral presentations, writing, negotiation, active listening, influence positive team dynamics
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Financial Services industry
  • Ability to work under pressure; flexibility and willingness to work at a rapid pace
  • Outstanding data analysis and data-driven decision-making skills
  • High level of attention to detail is essential
  • Strong team player with a high level of interpersonal skills

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Works with computer equipment for prolonged periods of time
  • Some travel may be required
  • This generally position reports to an AVP or VP
  • Routine interaction with multiple levels of the organization including the executive team

If this position is based in our Woodbury, Long Island office or Virtual, please note that ALL the work for this position must be performed outside of the five Boroughs of New York City.
