POSITION SUMMARY – Design and develop products and/or processes for Dee Zee and its’ customers that permit exposure to the student’s field of study and/or provide experience useful to the student’s education and meaningful preparation for future professional employment. Responsible for assisting with daily functions of the department as assigned by the manager. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT — Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Learn internal operations related to field of internship
  • Provide general assistance and support within department
  • Report progress to immediate manager throughout length of internship
  • Apply current education to identify areas for improvement and possible solutions
  • Make suggestions to leadership for streamlining systems and processes
  • Independently manage workload of project(s) assigned
  • Troubleshoot and problem-solving activities related to product or process issues
  • Understand and follow development and production workflows to ensure meets all customer and internal requirements and expectations
  • Maintain training requirements, fulfill training needs, and address any new opportunities for advanced training where applicable
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Ability to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customers
  • Support the environmental policy with proactive process implementation, improvement suggestions, reducing waste, and acting on environment performance results and findings

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
Pursuing a technical bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
Experience: No experience necessary; general knowledge of the field preferred Computer Skills: Must demonstrate computer literacy; Proficient Using Microsoft Office: Understanding of CAD software and 2D/3D modeling experience preferred
Certificates & Licenses: Valid Driver’s License
