Senior Safety & Risk Manager

Down to Earth is looking for a results-oriented Senior Safety and Risk Manager to lead the safety strategy for the organization. In this capacity, you will be responsible for the implementation, adoption and continuous improvement of all safety programs and collaborate closely with local leadership to ensure safety performance standards are met or exceeded.

Here’s an overview of what you can expect to do while working here:

• Oversee the development, administration and optimization of organizational programs and activities within the safety organization.
• Develop departmental plans including business, production and/or organizational priorities that establish a safety enterprise work strategy to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective performance that meets customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
• Provide guidance to managers about safety issues and concerns and ensures that OSHA programs and safety records are well maintained.
• Ensure compliance & mandated training is implemented accordingly.
• Ensure all required safety records, as specified in the company safety program are accurately maintained.
• Lead the field labor pool and supervisory teams towards goal achievement and results by driving the organization to be self-critical and committed to a continuous improvement culture.
• Administer workers compensation program
• Other responsibilities include, but not limited to; personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, or an equivalent field
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in industrial or field services related work experience in safety
• A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience
• Strong project management skills and the ability to execute large-scale initiatives in a matrixed environment
• Skilled in building effective teams and leading large groups of individuals in the accomplishment of goals and objectives.
• A strong customer service orientation and collaborative work style
• Travel to other locations throughout Florida
