The QAQC Manager is responsible for leading and managing the quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) activities within the software development team. This position ensures all software products built meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. Implements effective testing processes and strategies, as well as oversight of manual test script creation and implementation of automated test scripts tailored to these technologies. Requires a strong understanding of Microsoft software development methodologies, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems and Decision Sciences, or a related field is required.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience may substitute for education requirement.
  • Relevant certifications are preferred:
    • Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
    • Other related professional certifications (Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Certified SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), Advanced Project Manager Certification (APMC), etc.
  • 5+ years of direct experience in Agile project management or consulting is required.
  • Experience with Agile application delivery processes, system development life cycle, business assessments, and programs such as JIRA, Confluence, Asana, Zephyr, TestRail, Trello, Basecamp, TFS, Azure DevOps is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a project leadership or supervisory role is required.
  • Proven experience as a QAQC Test Manager or a similar role, preferably in a software development environment utilizing Microsoft technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices within the Microsoft ecosystem.
  • Experience in creating manual test scripts tailored to software applications by defining test scenarios, test cases, and expected outcomes.
  • Proficiency in implementing and maintaining automated test scripts using appropriate frameworks and tools compatible with Microsoft technologies, such as Selenium WebDriver for ASP.NET or MVC web applications.
  • Solid understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies, with a focus on custom developed software projects.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor team members.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail in the context of Microsoft technologies.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency of Scrum or other Agile methodologies.
  • Must have an in-depth understanding of Agile, its values and principles, including backlog grooming, release and sprint planning, Agile status reporting, and more.
  • Must be experienced in Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes.
  • Able to effectively manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adjust priorities appropriately in an evolving work environment with shifting time frames.
  • Ability to work in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Ability to lead, build, and manage effective teams for small, medium, and large scale projects.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, innovative, and continuously changing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in business and technical environments and within a diverse group of individuals.
  • High degree of professionalism including the ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
  • Technically proficient with the capability of performing at an intermediate or advanced level with respect to the Microsoft Office Suite of products, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook. 
  • May be required to work extended hours in the work week and weekends, as needed.
  • May be required to travel and work from different company and client locations.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and strategies for software projects ensuring that all requirements are met and that testing activities align with project timelines.
  • Lead a team of QAQC testers, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback to ensure optimal team performance and productivity in the Microsoft technology stack.
  • Oversee the creation of manual test scripts by collaborating with testers and subject matter experts to define test scenarios, test cases, and expected outcomes.
  • Review and validate manual test scripts to ensure clarity, accuracy, and coverage of all required test scenarios.
  • Implement and maintain automated test scripts using appropriate tools and frameworks compatible with Microsoft technologies, such as Selenium WebDriver for web applications built using C#, ASP.NET, & MVC.
  • Collaborate with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and establish clear quality objectives within project tracking tools like JIRA and Azure DevOps.
  • Design and maintain a robust test environment, including appropriate test data and test tools, to support effective and efficient testing processes.
  • Implement and continuously improve QAQC best practices, methodologies, and tools tailored to team’s specific software offerings to enhance the overall quality of software deliverables.
  • Monitor and report on testing progress, quality metrics, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) related to application quality to management and project stakeholders.
  • Participate in the identification and mitigation of project risks specific to projects, ensuring that potential quality issues are addressed proactively.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in software testing methodologies, tools, and technologies relevant to the Microsoft ecosystem, and share knowledge with the team.

  • Identifies opportunities and recommends methods to improve service, work processes and financial performance (e.g., procedure optimization).  Assists in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assists co-workers in the completion of tasks and assignments to ensure continuity of service.  Actively supports teamwork throughout the organization.
  • Performs other services as assigned.

Other Considerations:

  • May periodically travel and work from different company locations.
  • May be required to work overtime, and/or on weekends as needed.
  • Must arrive at EisnerAmper offices or client locations in a timely manner and be ready to perform job responsibilities.
