REPORTS TO:  Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef, Sous Chefs  

 

CLASSIFICATION:  Full-time/Hourly

 

$20.00 an hour

 

SUMMARY: As a hotel Line Cook, you will play an integral role in maintaining the highest standards of culinary excellence and guest satisfaction. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef or Sous Chef, you will collaborate closely with our team of culinary professionals to create and deliver exquisite dishes that delight the senses and elevate the dining experience. With a focus on precision, creativity, and attention to detail, you will contribute to the success of our culinary operations while embodying our commitment to excellence in every aspect of food preparation and presentation.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

·       Prepare and execute a diverse range of menu items with precision and artistry, ensuring each dish meets our exacting standards of quality, flavor, and presentation.

·       Work diligently to uphold our commitment to freshness and excellence by sourcing the finest ingredients and utilizing innovative cooking techniques to enhance the flavor and texture of each dish.

·       Collaborate closely with the culinary team to organize and prioritize tasks, coordinate timing, and ensure seamless execution of menu items during peak service periods.

·       Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment at all times, adhering to strict food safety and sanitation protocols to prevent cross-contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations.

·       Assist with inventory management, including monitoring stock levels, rotating perishable items, and minimizing waste to maximize efficiency and profitability.

·       Demonstrate exceptional teamwork, communication, and professionalism while fostering a positive and supportive work environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

·       Embrace opportunities for growth and development by actively participating in training programs, culinary workshops, and ongoing education initiatives designed to enhance your skills and knowledge.

·       Perform other related services and duties as assigned by supervisor and management.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

·       Previous experience working as a Line Cook or similar role in a high-volume kitchen environment, preferably within a luxury hotel or fine dining establishment.

·       Strong culinary skills and a comprehensive understanding of cooking techniques, flavor profiles, and ingredient pairings.

·       Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure, prioritize tasks, and maintain composure in a fast-paced, demanding kitchen environment.

·       Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of food preparation and presentation.

·       Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the needs of our operation.

·       Completion of a valid food handler’s training certificate.

·       Culinary training preferred.

·       Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and alternate shifts as required by departmental schedules and hotel operations.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

·       Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

·       Stamina to withstand high temperatures and intense work conditions while maintaining focus and attention to detail.

·       Exposure to varying kitchen conditions and temperatures is inherent in the role.
