JOB SUMMARY:

As a Hotel Valet, you will be responsible for providing exceptional valet parking and guest services to hotel patrons. Your primary duty will be to warmly greet guests upon arrival, assist with luggage, park, and retrieve vehicles with care, and ensure the smooth flow of traffic in the hotel's driveway. Additionally, you will deliver excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries, providing directions, and offering assistance as needed.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  • Guest Arrival Assistance: Greet guests with genuine hospitality as they arrive at the hotel, assisting them with unloading luggage from their vehicles and offering assistance as needed.
  • Valet Parking Operations: Safely park guests' vehicles in designated areas, following established procedures for vehicle handling, parking, and retrieval. Ensure that vehicles are parked securely and efficiently to maximize space and accessibility.
  • Valet Parking Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing valet parking area at all times. Regularly monitor the area for debris, hazards, or obstructions, promptly addressing any issues to ensure guest safety and satisfaction.
  • Vehicle Retrieval: Respond promptly to guest requests for vehicle retrieval, delivering vehicles to the hotel entrance with care and efficiency. Coordinate with other valet team members to minimize wait times and optimize guest convenience.
  • Guest Assistance: Provide guests with accurate information and directions regarding hotel amenities, services, and local attractions. Anticipate and address guest inquiries, requests, and concerns in a courteous and professional manner, striving to exceed guest expectations at every opportunity.
  • Luggage Handling: Assist guests with loading and unloading luggage into and from their vehicles, ensuring that belongings are handled with care and delivered to the appropriate destination.
  • Professional Conduct:  Maintain a well-groomed appearance and professional demeanor at all times, adhering to hotel standards and dress code policies. Demonstrate respect, courtesy, and integrity in interactions with guests, colleagues, and other members of the hotel team.
  • Guest Satisfaction: Proactively seek feedback from guests regarding their valet parking experience, actively listening to their comments, and addressing any concerns or issues promptly and effectively. Strive to create positive, memorable experiences that inspire guest loyalty and satisfaction. Be professional, friendly, and willing to provide personalized and excellent customer service to all our hotel guests at all times.
  • Safety and Security: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including those related to vehicle handling, traffic management, and emergency response. Remain vigilant and proactive in identifying and addressing potential safety hazards or security risks in the valet parking area.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other members of the valet team, as well as colleagues from different hotel departments, to ensure seamless coordination and communication. Support fellow team members and contribute to a positive work environment characterized by teamwork, mutual respect, and shared goals. Help other colleagues with their tasks when and where needed.
  • Amenities: Upsell hotel amenities and services to guests to enhance their experience and maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Local Attractions: Stay informed about local attractions, events, and dining options to provide recommendations and assistance to guests.
  • Other Duties as Assigned: Perform pre- and post-shift tasks and any other tasks & duties as assigned by management.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education required; additional hospitality or customer service training preferred.
  • Previous experience in a valet parking or guest service role within the hospitality industry strongly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently and courteously with guests from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong customer service orientation, with a genuine passion for providing exceptional service and creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities with efficiency and composure.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record required; ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles preferred.
  • Physical stamina and agility are required to perform tasks such as lifting and carrying luggage, standing for extended periods, and navigating outdoor environments in various weather conditions.
  • Flexibility to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings, as dictated by business needs and by management.
  • Knowledge of local attractions, landmarks, and transportation options preferred, enabling you to provide informed recommendations and assistance to guests.
  • Positive attitude, teamwork mentality, and commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and guest service excellence.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Physical stamina and the ability to stand, walk, perform repetitive tasks, and help move or carry items for extended periods throughout shift in indoor and outdoor settings.
  • Exposure to indoor and outdoor work conditions and temperatures is inherent in the role.
