Creative Copywriter 3
The Creative Copywriter 3 position exists to support the in-house creative team at Focus on the Family. This position will carry brand-aligned creative from concept to final delivery in collaboration with creative teammates. As the in-house creative team operates cross-departmentally, this position can interact directly with clients with grace, humility, and timeliness. Also, successfully prioritize projects (and adjust those priorities) to align with shifting organizational initiatives. This position invests in the team through mentoring other Copywriter teammates and driving team creativity. The role operates with minimal oversight and requires strong organization, communication, and creative skills.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Ideates concepts for new projects
Leads discovery, kick-off, and presentation meetings with clients and stakeholders
Collaborates with teammates to carry deliverables from concept to final without oversight
Revises projects when reviews come back
Packages and uploads completed projects for final delivery
Sets and adjusts priorities to align with organizational initiatives
Leads creative activities and ideation discussions
Completes creative briefs for incoming projects to guide work and reviews
Meets directly with ministry clients and communicate updates to the team
Develops creative challenges to push the team’s ideation and creation processes
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
Invests in the creative and professional development of teammates through mentoring and training
Assists in overall department initiatives such as integration, annual departmental planning, creative training, branding exercises, research, etc.
Performs other duties, including but not limited to duties as assigned, some of which may include the development and creation of a variety of copyrightable works (e.g., print, photography, voice work, film, music, visual arts, etc.) for distribution in any and all media and formats (such as television, radio, internet, wireless, DVD, satellite and digital) on a world-wide basis, all of which shall be for the benefit of Focus on the Family
Managerial Breadth/Scope of Job:
Leads the creation of written and scripted marketing content for internal clients throughout the organization
Working Environment/Physical Requirements:
Fast-paced office environment with shifting priorities
Physical presence at the Colorado Springs campus
Balance the tension of managing legacy initiatives, then switching gears to support new opportunities with very tight deadlines

Knowledge/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in English, Journalism, Advertising or Marketing
5–7 years of experience in writing and editing in an agency or agency-like environment
A very strong portfolio showing high levels of creativity and originality across multiple channels
Master in Microsoft Office (specifically Word and PowerPoint)
Able to teach tips and techniques to the team
Exceptional verbal, written communication, and presentation skills

Salary Range: $70,716 to $81,117/yr
