Labeling Compliance Claims Specialist
This position facilitates and coordinates in conjunction with the Quality SQF Practitioners auditing activities across the company, driven by customer requirements that facilities conform to various manufacturing and quality standards. The Labelling & Claims Specialist will act as a liaison between Marketing and Compliance to ensure all product and packaging labels, warnings, claims, products adhere to their specifications. They will serve as the subject matter expert surrounding product and pack regulatory requirements, labelling, warnings & safety, recyclability/compostability, and claims. They will also serve as the developer of Declarations of Conformity for products sold into the European market. They will also be required to provide quality assurance direction for Foreign Purchased Good Failures. |
Essential Job Duties
- Facilitate and participate in all compliance/certification SQF audits
- Participate in CTPAT audit and serve as backup on the Compliance team for lead
- Will work in conjunction with the Compliance Specialist to ensure that any failure is closed and all CAPA’s are logged. Required experience in previous role regarding quality assurance, regulatory, and labelling CAPAs.
- Serve as subject matter expert on all product and pack labelling with experience in CPSC Fair Packaging & Labelling Act
- Will guide design and graphics team on required warnings, labels, and packaging for all products
- Will work with Compliance Testing Specialist to order testing for labels and packaging, as well as advising corrective actions for labels, warnings, and packaging failures
- Experience with children’s products and toy regulations in the US, Canada, and EU/UK
- Serve as subject matter expert on claims, international claims, as well as Green Claims
- Guides marketing on leveraging defensible marketing claims regarding product and/or packaging claims used in all marketing materials including but not limited to packaging graphics, advertising, online, etc.
- Manages, submits, and maintains all recycling labels and compostability certification requests, required tests
- Anticipatory Issues manager for recyclability, compostability, extended producer responsibility regulations, standards, guidelines, and trends
- Track, Manage, and work with Compliance Specialist to obtain test reports and obtain certifications from Authorized Representative and develops Declarations of Conformity
