Primary Purpose of Role 
Responsible for assisting in administration of wired and wireless local area network devices (IT and OT networks) and telecommunications systems, hardware and software setup and support for client-facing devices (desktop, laptop, peripheral) and server and storage environments (eg, HPE, VMWare). Responsible for assisting in troubleshooting of WAN issues, IT security systems, and backup/disaster recovery processes and planning. 

Essential Job Duties 

  • Document and handle requests using issue tracking system; prioritize and follow up proactively on open issues.
  • Analyze, diagnose, and solve technical issues. Escalate issues when required.
  • Collaborate with the development team, IT Analysts, and external consultants to identify the root causes of problems.
  • Develop and create documentation and support material, contribute to a knowledgebase.
  • Provide basic training to end-users on system features.
  • Assist with granting system access.
  • Troubleshoot and respond to basic system alerts.
  • Hardware and software support for all PC, desktop, laptop, servers, cloud operations and wireless devices, including PC and Mac environments.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, install, and perform testing activities on various computer equipment, telephone equipment, peripherals, data communication, computer network systems, and computer software.
  • Prioritize workload alongside internal Technical Support Specialists to ensure timely completion of projects that meet departmental goals and objectives, including engagement of external consultants and vendors as required.
  • Assist when required for installation, configuration, and maintenance of organizations network, servers, data storage, and firewalls,
  • Develops and maintains standards for hardware and software support and deployment.
  • Evaluates current infrastructure and recommends “best practices” improvements.
  • Keeps abreast of new technological developments and makes recommendations regarding changes to current standards as appropriate.
  • Assist with update and patch scheduling to ensure all software and hardware components are following best practice versioning.
  • Complete work orders such as installing computer hardware and software, connecting and moving devices, and troubleshoot helpdesk calls based upon established priorities and timelines.
  • Setup and maintain user security access into Hoffmaster Group’s Active directory and network applications and servers.
  • Develop and maintain software and hardware inventory and tracking systems; develop inventory lists and order, stock, and store PC hardware and software and associated supplies.
  • Prepare and submit vendor warranty claims, parts, and documentation associated with warranty and repair of equipment under maintenance agreements.
  • Monitor company’s helpdesk and respond to daily operational issues. Provide support to users relating to both hardware and software problems on their personal computers and other mobile devices.
  • Perform and monitor server backups to ensure data can be recovered in the event of any data loss.
  • Follows company’s computer policies, procedures, and standards when setting up and maintaining computer hardware, software, and communications to prevent security risks and legal/compliance violations.
  • Assist in supporting IT Infrastructure support during non-business hours. Will be part of support rotation.
  • Participate in team environment working closely with other members of IT department and outside consultants or third-party support resources to support Hoffmaster Group’s computing environment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance for computer, data communications, and/or network equipment; test and adjust to appropriate standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Jira experience a plus.
  • Bachelors Degree or other Industry certifications Preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience of related work experience
