Primary Purpose of the Role
Responsible for overseeing printing production processes and employees on a day-to-day basis.
Essential job Duties
- Hiring, training and evaluation of all hourly personnel in Press and Pre-Press operations.

- Provide coaching to direct reports to help them become technically competent while also improving their capability to coach and motivate their people.
|
- Utilize on-the job training and the "plan-do-check-act" cycle to develop people
|
- Responsible for the safety of all associates in areas of responsibility and throughout the manufacturing facility.
|
- Day to day management of all Prepress & Press activities including ink management, mounting, plate making and proofing.
|
- Direct overview and accountability of our color management process and systems (lighting booths, X-rite systems, audits, etc.)
|
- Assist during set-up, clean-up, color matching, deck sequence, new job approvals and anilox roll selection.
|
- Audit and maintain the anilox, printing sleeve and sticky back inventory.
|
- Follow and Maintain all Food Safety, GMP and HACCP Guidelines
|
- All other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilites
- Must be a self-starter and critical thinker who is passionate about process improvement and providing solutions to the organization and production team.

- Deep knowledge of printing and production processes. Process-oriented and results-focused.

- Exemplar delegation and coaching abilities. Utilizes good team-building skills.

- Clear concise communicator, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of the organization.

- Knows and understands active listening skills and always follows up.

- Set clear performance expectations and holds people accountable.

- Outstanding Customer Service skills. Ability to understand and meet customers’ (both internal & external) specifications.

- Ability to work independently in a time-sensitive printing environment. Organized and demonstrates diligence.
|
- Ability to identify problems and ensure the appropriate problem-solving approach is followed.
|
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing. Able to recognize waste and size up opportunities for improvement.
|
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and other standard Windows PC applications. More advanced Excel proficiency is a plus.
- Minimum 5 year of experience in manufacturing and leadership. Experience in printing and paper converting a plus
