Job Overview
HealthRIGHT 360 Walden House Program provides detox and residential recovery services to clients. The Detox program provides a place for clients to be able to detox from their current substance use. We provide team based support with medical and substance use counseling to support clients.Under the direct supervision of the SF Addiction Director, the BH Detox Provider (BHDP) is responsible for the maintenance and support of medically assisted treatment and withdrawal management the scope of Incidental Medical Services (IMS). The BHDP is responsible for completing a medical history, performing a physical examination, ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, and providing MAT for the detoxification of clients as appropriate. Provides consultation and education to participants regarding Medically Assisted Treatment within the Participant Centered Health Home delivery model. Assessment of withdrawal symptoms and application of medication protocols to support participant care. Utilization of the ASAM guidelines to guide participant care. Located in our detox/withdrawal management programs. Will serve as a Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA) determining or signing off on level of care and assessing when clients may move down in level of care. May be required to work nights and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
Skills & Medicine Responsibilities:- Educate, support and care for participants receiving medication assisted treatment and/or withdrawal management.
- Analyze and interpret participant history, symptoms, physical findings, and/or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.
- Maintain complete and detailed records of participants' history, assessment, and health care plans.
- Perform routine or annual physical examinations.
- Medical examination will include the interpretation of all routine laboratory tests.
- Diagnosis and treatment of illness and injury related to addiction use disorder.
- Consulting with the Assistant Medical Director for treatment or referral options.
- Utilization of the ASAM guidelines in directing care of participants.
- Assessment of withdrawal symptoms to determine appropriate protocols and the application of those protocols.
- Conducts and/or participates in meetings with treatment team. May provide 24 hour, 7 day per week coverage, as scheduled.
- Participates in treatment and discharge planning for participants.
- Is available to staff for consultation on urgent or emergent issues.
- Participates in concurrent reviews and appeals as needed for participant treatment authorization.
Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education and Experience Required:
- Graduation from a United States accredited program for Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants.
- Familiarity with medication assisted treatments.
- Clinical experience with and commitment to working with diverse client populations suffering from substance use disorder and addiction.
- Possession of a current, valid California Registered Nurse License, Furnishing license; DEA and X-waiver/NPI.
- Possession of a California Nurse Practitioner Certificate; OR Possession of a current, valid California License to practice as a Physician Assistant issued by the California Board of Medical Quality Assurance.
- Current BLS/ACLS certificate or recertification within 2 months of hire.
