HealthRIGHT 360 offers residential treatment services designed to serve  individuals and families with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders. Our program helps clients address addiction and related issues, increase skills, manage stressors, connect to supportive service, and build a foundation for lasting recovery.  Residential programs run 24/7 and Individual and group therapy, family therapy, individualized case management, treatment planning, drug and alcohol counseling, Medication support services, and crisis intervention.

Job Overview
 
This is a union position.

 

Women age 18 and above with severe substance use disorders are able to enter residential treatment with their children under the age of 10 ½. In addition to treatment of severe substance use disorder, the residential program is able to serve the following specialty populations: pregnant and postpartum women, women with histories of trauma and/or domestic violence, women with co-occurring mental health disorders, women with history of traumatic brain injury, women with open DCFS cases, and women with criminal justice involvement. 

Supervise and educate clients to engage in developmentally appropriate practices with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school age children.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing culturally enriching and age-appropriate developmental activities while maintaining a calm and encouraging atmosphere.
  • Ensure that clients are following proper safety precautions with children.
  • Educate mothers on age-appropriate developmental milestones.
  • Document observations and concerns. Communicate observations and concerns to the team and primary counselor and offer feedback teaching clients to take responsibility for the child, encouraging proper care, cleaning, and organization of the space.
  • Documenting observations and concerns.
  • Communicating observations and concerns to the team and primary counselor with feedback on goals and objectives for parenting portion of the problem list. 
  • Educating clients on developmental milestones.
  • Promoting age-appropriate activities with children.
  • Educate and support mothers in providing structure and safety for children.
  • Ensuring client and children's schedules are followed. 
  • Participation in weekly treatment team meetings.
  • Provide educational assignments as needed that address the needs for parenting education within the community.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains frequent communication with the treatment team and engages in regular consultations. 

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 
Education Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; minimum of 9 college units in Child/Human Development (Education).

Experience: 

  • Preferably a minimum of two years’ experience in the human service field and demonstrated expertise in childcare.
  • Experience working with children between ages 0-11.
  • Experience working with children and their parents.
  • Knowledge of working with participants with substance abuse issues, trauma and domestic violence.
