The general salary range for this position is $70,000 – 83,000. Salary offers will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, skills, training and education.

 

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation’s most effective animal advocacy organization, is seeking an Account Manager, Paid Media for the Digital Marketing department. In this position you will manage key aspects of the organization's online acquisition program, with the goal of maximizing lifetime net revenue. You will also maintain the day-to-day aspects of the digital acquisition program, working closely with the Manager, Digital Acquisition and production partners to achieve revenue goals and to grow the program in accordance with the organization's advocacy, branding, fundraising and list growth goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage online advertising campaigns to drive growth through social media advertising (Facebook/Instagram).  Optimize ads and campaigns with a focus on acquisition metrics such as conversion rates, cost per acquisition (CPA), and return on ad spend (RoAS);
  • Assist in reporting on all paid fundraising and acquisition initiatives to measure impact and guide strategy; work with data team to compile and analyze metrics, make decisions and optimize campaign performance based on results;
  • Aggressively test new approaches and new advertising products and placements, while also monitoring and analyzing competitors in our vertical;
  • Support the creative conceptualization of advertising materials by working with in-house design and video teams to ensure content needs are met;
  • Partner with staff from across departments on integrated campaigns and projects;
  • Reply to comments on paid advertisements from donors and supporters as needed;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, design, journalism, English, liberal arts, communications, or another relevant field, or equivalent work experience required;
  • A minimum of four (4) years’ experience in online marketing activities required;
  • Demonstrated, intensive knowledge of the Internet, online trends, and the use of the Internet for fundraising and/or social change, and familiarity with social media and paid advertising techniques;
  • Demonstrated, intensive knowledge of the internet, online trends, and the use of the internet for advocacy and/or social change a must;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills;
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask as needed;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Photoshop, helpful;
  • Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member in a team environment;
  • Strong interpersonal skills are necessary;
  • Passionate interest in animal protection issues highly desired.
