Reports to: Lead Payroll Associate
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt      

Position Summary
The position will be responsible for processing in-house payroll for 1200+ union and non-union employees.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for reviewing accuracy of employee data, including, but not limited to new hires, pay rate changes, benefit deductions, union fringes, title changes, address changes, work location changes and employee separations
  • Ensuring timesheet processes are observed and timecards are submitted and approved in accordance with payroll processing timeline
  • Communicating with internal ISEC network pertaining to accuracy and timeliness of time submissions
  • Timely and accurate processing of multi-state, in-house payroll, including off-cycles and same day terminations
  • Handling all deadlines with urgency, including expedited holiday deadlines based on bank & ISEC holiday schedules
  • Maintaining appropriate records and documentation to support all payroll and reporting activities
  • Responding to and processing support orders, garnishments, liens, and levies
  • Utilizing payroll and timesheet audit tools and responding to audit requests in a timely manner
  • Ensuring compliance with Certified payroll processes and reporting
  • Reconciling union remittances and ensuring compliance with union bargaining agreements
  • Adhering to strict confidentiality practices to safeguard employee personal, protected information
  • Ensuring compliance with multi state taxes and federal tax requirements
  • Monitoring the payroll inbox and providing prompt response and resolution to questions and concerns
  • Providing proactive customer service and timely communication
  • Dayforce / Pacific Timesheets

Preferred Qualifications (in addition to minimum qualifications)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Experience working with union and non-union payrolls
  • Experience working in a multi-state payroll environment
  • Understanding of general payroll principles and compliance solutions
  • Experience working with Certified Payroll
  • Experience working in multiple systems at the same time
  • Ability to process multiple payrolls with varying pay frequencies and pay groups

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma
  • 0-3 years payroll experience
  • Practical knowledge of federal, state, labor, and compensation requirements

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • FPC or CPP certification preferred
  • Experience with Dayforce
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Computer proficiencies in Office, Outlook, and Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Works well independently and in a team environment
