Compliance & Risk Management Intern
Janney’s Corporate Internship Program is a 10-week paid opportunity beginning June 3, 2024 – August 9, 2024 for students entering their senior year of undergraduate study who are on track to graduate in Spring/Summer 2025.
The Compliance and Risk Management Intern will have the opportunity to experience many of the ever-changing and evolving functions within these areas. This individual will perform a wide variety of functions and will assist in the process of developing and maintaingmaintaining rish managment and regulatory controls in addition to ad hoc projects as assigned. Projects vary widely, examples may include:
- Learn the role of our regulators and how they influence the responsibility of a dually registered Broker-Dealer and Investment Advisor.
- Collaborate with staff to investigate and analyze date to uncover potential fraud or other financial crimes. This might include reviewing trading activity to identify potential market manipulation or money movement indicating potential money laundering..
- Create and maintain documentation of various testing and control results, consolidated from business units throughout the firm.
- Work with senior leaders of the department of the department to receive bird’s- eye view of the regulatory risk to investors.
- Shadow various Compliance and Risk Management Department leaders as they advise business partners on navigating and managing conflicts of interest and other risk matters.
- Evaluate risk exposure and report deviations of concern to senior management
- Evaluate trading counterparties for financial stability and adjust limits accordingly
- Produce daily and monthly Fixed Income reports to examine inventory and hedging
- Create hypothetical scenarios to assess exposure and review collateral obligations
Program Eligibility Requirements:
- Ability to work full-time (37.5 hours/week) during the internship
