BANQUETS SET-UP PERSON - CB & VR
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for accurate set-up and tear down of all meeting and catered functions according to BEO specifications.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to read, write, and understand English written and verbal instructions. Must demonstrate ability in handling details. Must be self motivated, demonstrate pride in work, and able to work with minimal or no supervision. Must be able to communicate with guests to meet their immediate needs. Must be able to maintain composure under all situations. Must present a well-groomed appearance. Must have the mobility to arrange banquet room walls, tables, chairs, and move about the banquet rooms quickly.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Accurately set-up and tear down all meeting and catered functions according to BEO specifications.
- Maintain and inventory all supplies and equipment utilized in the Banquet area.
- Properly store and transport all Banquet equipment in an organized fashion.
- Maintain equipment and notify Supervisor of needed repairs or safety concerns.
- Ensure that meeting rooms and pre-function areas are cleaned on a daily basis.
- Other job related duties as assigned and instructed by management.
CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPECTATIONS:
- Provide outstanding world-class coordination and servicing of convention, meeting and group business. Position the CasaBlanca and Virgin River Hotels as the preferred provider of convention and group meetings in the Southern Nevada area.
- Ensure that all activities are performed to planned specifications of the client, achieving an outstanding level of guest satisfaction and generating consistent repeat business.
- Maintain a good rapport and professional relationship in all dealings with other departments.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; recurring lifting heavy objects up to 70 pounds. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities such as above-average agility and dexterity.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work involves moderate risks or discomforts requiring special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, carts, or machines, or with contagious diseases or irritant chemicals. Employees may be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, gowns, coats, boots, goggles, gloves, or shields. The work environment involves exposure to second hand smoke in a casino. This is a 24 hour/7 day a week work environment with varying shifts including weekends and holidays.
