Join our team at The Front Porch's Mental Health Urgent Care Program! Located in Newport, we offer specialized programming to support individuals in the Northeast Kingdom facing suicidal ideation or mental health distress. As a Therapist, you'll play a vital role in providing community-based alternatives to emergency departments. With your strong clinical skills in mental health and addictions, you'll work with clients with co-occurring conditions, offering screening, diagnosis, crisis intervention, case management, and consultation services. Our mission is to empower individuals, families, and communities by promoting hope, healing, and support.  NKHS is a Designated Agency contracted with the State of Vermont to provide the highest quality of service in the areas of adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities, children and youth with serious emotional disabilities, and adults with mental health and substance use challenges.  We serve the populations of Caledonia, Essex, and Orleans counties through a wide variety of targeted programs for individuals of all ages. NKHS has over 450 employees providing case management, community and home supports, residential care, psychiatry, medication management, therapy, vocational supports, school based counseling, emergency care, and respite services. RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE

• Screen and diagnose individuals.
• Evaluate crisis situations, provide counseling, assess risks, and refer.
• Offer brief therapy centered on clients' needs.
• Conduct mental health assessments, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with the team.
• Build relationships with NKHS and community agencies.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s degree in a recognized field of mental health required, licensed preferred.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience providing therapy services to both mental health and addictions population required, certification preferred.
• Emergency/Crisis experience (minimum 1 year) dealing with acute psychiatric assessment and dispositions, preferred.
