Quality Director

Northeast Kingdom Human Services is seeking a Quality Director to join our team!  As the Quality Director you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance across all programs and services provided by NKHS. The ideal candidate will be passionate about implementing continuous quality improvement (CQI) strategies that support standard operating practices, conducting utilization reviews, ensuring consistent chart review processes, preparing state and grant funder reports, and utilizing the Results Based Accountability framework.

Our mission is to empower individuals, families, and communities by promoting hope, healing, and support.  NKHS is a Designated Agency contracted with the State of Vermont to provide the highest quality of service in the areas of adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities, children and youth with serious emotional disabilities, and adults with mental health and substance use challenges.  We serve the populations of Caledonia, Essex, and Orleans counties through a wide variety of targeted programs for individuals of all ages. NKHS has over 450 employees providing case management, community and home supports, residential care, psychiatry, medication management, therapy, vocational supports, school based counseling, emergency care, and respite services. RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE

  • Develop and implement quality assurance and improvement initiatives that are aligned with NKHS's mission, values, and strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership and program directors to ensure quality throughout the system of care.
  • Serve as a leading member on the community needs assessment team and support agency and community improvement plans.
  • Utilize the Results Based Accountability framework to develop key performance indicators (KPIs), measure and improve outcomes, drive decision-making, and enhance program effectiveness.
  • Conduct regular reviews, including updates to the agency CQI plan and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Collaborate with program managers and staff to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions. Provide training and support to staff on quality assurance protocols and procedures, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Lead efforts to enhance the overall quality of services delivered to clients through data-driven decision-making and evidence-based practices.
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely reports to state agencies and grant funders, demonstrating NKHS's commitment to transparency and accountability.
  • Foster a positive work culture that values teamwork, collaboration, and a shared commitment to excellence in service delivery.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, public health, health administration, or equivalent field required. Master's degree, Six Sigma or Project Management Professional certification preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a quality assurance or related role within the healthcare, quality management, or human services sector.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Power BI, or other data visualization dashboards.
  • Strong knowledge of CQI strategies, utilization reviews, and Vermont regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with the Results Based Accountability framework and its application in program evaluation and performance management.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret data and trends to drive quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks effectively, and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Competitive Salary starting at $80,000+ based on experience.
