Summary: The Strategic Marketing Manager will report directly to the Vice President – Commercial and will be responsible for analyzing, summarizing and creating actionable reports that will guide Opta's future commercial strategy.


  • Provides actionable overall market and customer insights to address key strategic questions
  • Develops marketing strategy by studying economic indicators, tracking changes in demand, identifying customers, and monitoring competitors
  • Organizes customer-relations programs and company presence at conventions, annual meetings, trade associations, and seminars
  • Responsible for tracking, reporting, and analyzing the performance of marketing & business activities, ad-hoc analytic requests, and development/automation of regular reports
  • Analyzes and summarizes external and internal customer data using database queries, spreadsheets models, web analytics tools, statistical analysis tools, and campaign management software tools
  • Creates PowerPoint presentations to provide product and market insights to other marketing and sales departments
  • Provides tactical support to implement ideas
  • Provides support and oversight for special projects and initiatives
  • Identifies and provides recommendations on improvements across the organization
  • Track new markets and emerging trends
  • Work closely with company’s sales and product development teams
  • Provide and coordinate reporting assistance to existing & prospective entities as required



    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or other quantitative discipline is required
    • MBA or Master’s Degree preferred
    • 5-10 years related work experience in B2B commercial space, preferably serving industrial markets
    • Familiarity with CRM software, ideally Salesforce
    • Excellent communication skills/ multi-lingual preferred
    • Expertise in Microsoft Powerpoint
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
    • Experience with Tableau or similar data visualization tools


LOCATION: Home office/remote. Travel as required (estimated 25-50%)
