Program Description:

In Homes Now, a permanent housing program services client in a scatter site model. The multi-disciplinary team works together to ensure that each tenant successfully remains in their housing. Housing is provided through independent apartments rented by Project Renewal throughout the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. Presently there are 115 Abstinence-Based units; 82 units house single adults and 33 units house families in recovery with a history of substance use and homelessness.

 

Overall Responsibilities:

Under the general direction of the Senior Director, with the wide latitude for independent action and decision making, the Program Director for In Homes Now – Abstinence-Based Programs is responsible for the overall management of the abstinence-based programs. The PD provides leadership, direction, guidance, coaching, direct and indirect supervision of the staff; enabling staff to follow program policies and initiatives in the proper delivery of services to the targeted client population.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential duties of the Position include but are not limited to the following activities:

  • Management of 115 units in Abstinence Based scatter site programs, including programs’ budget; payroll documentation, employee performance reviews, recruiting/discharging staff, arranging in-service training schedule, and coordinating with Project Renewal's other services.

 

  • Interfacing with community providers, landlords, professional associations and other agencies as necessary and appropriate

 

  • Oversee 5 case managers with intake, assessment and service plans

 

  • Facilitate weekly team meetings and provide clinical supervision to 5 case managers

 

  • Complete initial interviews and assessments for perspective clients and families

 

  • Ensure visit requirements for clients and chart requirements are met

 

  • Ensure various programs comply with funder requirements (OASAS & HUD)

 

  • Oversee rent collection and reports to fiscal department for housing units

 

  • Complete monthly reports to funders and to the agency

 

  • 24 hour on-call coverage for client related emergencies

 

  

 Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or another related field.  Master’s degree preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication an time management skills.
  • Ability to work cohesively with a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience doing field work.
  • Experience working with adults with mental health and/or substance use issues, including families, preferably in supportive housing.
  • Spanish speaking a plus.
