Job Title:  Project Manager III 

Job Summary:
Project Manager has responsibilities for leading projects and/or programs on a day-to-day basis.  This includes creation of project plans, business cases, design strategies, , resource allocation, earned value, budget management, cross-organizational coordination, vendor management, executive communication/reporting, and critical issue resolution and escalations.

Duties/Responsibilities:
•    Diligently monitor project progress using work plan and project plan tools
•    Prepare documentation and lead client steering committee meetings
•    Apply risk mitigation strategies to the project plan to ensure overall project success
•    Coordinate with all appropriate groups and personnel to ensure excellent delivery of projects
•    Provide all necessary data for tracking, planning and project evaluation to ensure data accuracy in project management tools
•    Nurture client/stakeholder partnership to ensure overall satisfaction with the project
•    Set up issue tracking structure and project boards to facilitate efficient and accurate project status reporting.
•    Effectively communicate project status and issues to management and present options for issue resolution
•    Work closely with development and test teams to effectively understand project progress and manage project tasks
•    Analyze process risks and inefficiencies and recommend improvements
•    Ensure project meets the expected budgetary and scheduling guidelines
•    Ensure business case accurately reflects costs and is updated as changes occur; Usher the business case through the approval process and adhere to all standard procedures
•    Enforce change management practices to meet project timelines and client expectations
•    Assist with proposal writing and work with team members to develop project cost estimates.
•    Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities: 
•    Ability to manage projects with little supervision and provide status and issues to executives and upper management
•    Proven ability to influence others and to build trusting relationships with clients and peers
•    Proven skills in program/project management
•    Demonstrated ability to develop a strategic and tactical plan from a concept
•    Strong initiative and creativity in gathering an analyzing data
•    Ability to manage multiple priorities, set direction, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
•    Strong communications and presentation skills, including ability to summarize and concisely share key project information at all levels of the organization
•    Strong ability to provide leadership/mentoring to other team members
•    Strong ability to manage a business case and program budget
•    Must have proven ability to drive and coordinate the tasks of a large, matrixed project team which is geographically dispersed, including offshore development centers
Preferred: 
•    Program Management certification
•    Ability and willingness to travel approximately 15% of the time

Education and Experience:
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.  Prefer a Masters Degree in CS, MIS
•    A minimum of eight (8) years directly related Project Management experience, preferably with teams of 5 - 15 staff including analysts, developers, QA, tech writers, and related personnel.
•    Knowledge of business and technology work processes and the ability to use this knowledge when consulting across organizations and client groups
