The Simon & Schuster Associates Program is an 18-month entry-level rotational program and a cornerstone of our commitment to promoting Diversity within the publishing industry. Simon & Schuster Associates have the opportunity to work closely with either the Adult or Children's divisions which will offer unique opportunities for individual guidance and mentoring.

Once in the program, the Associate will have the opportunity to rotate through 3 six-month rotations in roles that could include editorial, marketing, digital marketing, publicity, sales or managing editorial. The rotations are selected based on the Associates interest. 

The program is a full-time position with benefits included. Effort is made to network the Associates to secure a permanent position once the program comes to a close.


  • At least one degree from a 4-year college or university. *Both undergraduate and graduate students can apply.
  • Previous work experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A demonstrated love for books and storytelling.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable.
