POSITION PURPOSE
Maintain all Blast & Paint equipment and buildings to keep them operating in a safe manner while eliminating downtime to maintain high utilization and reduce cost. Complete work efficiently and safely as assigned by maintenance management team, planners, or other managers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Completing work as assigned by team leaders, planners or other managers
- Work closely with operations personnel to reduce downtime and improve equipment utilization
- Help ensure outside contractor employees adhere to company and OSHA safety
- Help enforce company policies with outside contractors and maintenance personnel
- Correct electrical/mechanical breakdowns and work to improve process and equipment to avoid future breakdowns
- Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment
- Continuously improve preventative maintenance program
- Work shifts as required to cover manning and cross train and work in other areas
- Enter work orders
- Comply with all departmental/company safety programs
- Assist with mechanical safety observation corrective actions and ensure timely completion
- Recognize, report, avoid and, if possible, eliminate safety hazards
- Attend monthly OSHA safety meetings and complete required safety observations
- Drive continuous improvement projects
QUALIFICATIONS
Competencies and Experience
Required:
- Mid-to-high level of hydraulic troubleshooting skills
- Experience with pneumatic and lubrication systems and alignment of equipment
- High level of mechanical troubleshooting of industrial equipment
- Knowledge of transformers and their principles
- Knowledge of level-1 PLC Control
- Knowledge of basic control schemes; PID’s, path regulators, speed control, etc
- Working knowledge of computer systems
- Knowledge of AC & DC drives
- Knowledge of AC, DC, and synchronous motors
- Knowledge of electrical power layouts, MCC’s, etc
- Understanding of electrical and mechanical drawings and layouts
Preferred:
- Profibus/Profinet protocol knowledge
Education
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of heavy industrial maintenance experience
or
- At least a two-year degree in electrical or mechanical technology and 1 year of heavy industrial maintenance experience
