Job Title:  Captain Fear Mascot                                                                  Department: Community Relations

Reports To:  Senior Cheerleading Manager                                           Status:  Non-exempt (eligible for overtime)

This position reports to the Cheerleading & Mascot Manager.  Captain Fear is a part time position that serves to promote Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home games, as well as in the Tampa Bay area. The mascot performer must be an upbeat, outgoing individual with the ability to interact with all types of people. Captain Fear is a vital component of the in-game experience at Raymond James Stadium.  Candidates must be comfortable performing regularly in front of thousands of fans.

 

Core Functions:

  • Maintain the character and personality of Captain Fear, both at home games and at community appearances
  • Perform as mascot at all home games during the NFL season
  • Help create a fun and energetic atmosphere at home games
  • Perform as mascot at community appearances throughout the year
  • Plan, develop, and implement mascot skits with Cheerleading and Mascot Manager to be performed at home games
  • Develop and maintain the mascot’s costume and props
  • Provide a high level of customer service to fans and sponsors

  • Flexible schedule for nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Comfortable performing in front of large crowds
  • Knowledge of the game of football
  • Ability and desire to be creative, zany, and fun-loving

 

Experience & Education

  • Degree preferred
  • Previous experience as a mascot at the Collegiate level or with a Professional Sports team required
  • Dance experience welcomed
  • Candidate must be in good health, above average physical shape and conditioning due to the severe heat and humidity conditions in Florida
  • Background Check will be performed
  • Must have own vehicle and be willing to travel 
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record a must

                      

Work Environment

The Company is a professional, fast paced, creative business environment.  Other environment conditions:

  • Extended evening, weekend work hours sometimes required; required to work all home games.  May have to work occasional holidays
  • Requires dancing, running, lifting, throwing, standing and working outside for extended periods of time in costume.
  • Physical Demands: HIGH; this position calls for a great deal of physical exertion
  • Lifting more than 20 pounds is required
  • Job duties require employee to drive company or personal vehicle
