Thayer Power & Communication Line Construction Co., LLC is currently seeking a Power Engineering Technician II to join our growing team. Your specific duties in this role will include:
Position Summary:
At the direction of the Project Manager, the Power Engineering Technician II will perform pole loading analysis and power & communication make ready design. The ability to identify existing power, CATV, telephone, fiber-optic facilities, and their industry knowledge is key to effectively performing in this role. This position will require the employee to have a working knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), national engineering standards, utility constructions standards, and best industry engineering practices. Required duties are to maintain production schedules and quality of projects, including field data, photographs, engineering analysis, reports, various customers reports, and departmental and customers databases including file management of all documents by departmental guidelines. 
Position Requirements:
Ability to research federal, state, and local road right of way information.
Experience with visually identifying data for telecommunication or power equipment and poles.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, multi-task, and adhere to firm time constraints.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Familiarity with County GIS and state plane coordinate data systems.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook and Teams.
Ability to research titles, deeds, and easements with County Recorder’s offices.
Translate electronic documents between various formats (DWG, DXF, DGN, PDF, etc.).
Strong attention to detail to ensure drawings are accurate according to specifications.
AutoCAD Certificate or associates degree in CAD drafting (Previous work experience can be substituted for ed-ucation).
Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience required.
Valid driver’s license and capacity to pass D.O.T. physical for operation of a passenger vehicle.
Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
Experience with the following software’s are preferred:
Microsoft Office Suite
Google Earth
AutoCAD Civil 3D 2022 or 2023
Pole Loading Analysis Software (O-Calc Pro, SPIDA Calc, Forman, or Katapult Pro)
