IT Infrastructure Manager
We are looking to hire an experienced Infrastructure Manager to support our North American manufacturing and distribution environment. Major functions of the role include managing the company’s infrastructure environment and supervising the Field Service team that provides local facility IT support and coordinating activities with either LSC Center of Excellence (COE) or third-party vendors. Both the Infrastructure Management and Field Service responsibilities includes both the day to day management of the overall environment as well as the visioning of future direction. The role includes supervision of staff and/or consultants assisting in supporting the overall company platform.
Responsibilities:
While there are a number of major tasks to this role, many of the opportunities are project based, often with multiple projects happening at once. Daily responsibilities may also include:
- Facility IT Support:
- Provide IT Support for offices in US and Canada
- Review information, benchmark and take corrective action to maintain service levels and deliverables.
- Visit manufacturing and distribution facilities when needed to conduct IT health checks.
- Supervise outside vendors and contractors. Evaluate when to utilize services for support.
- Troubleshoot advanced network issues and performing call backs, ensuring issues are resolved & appropriate solution is provided to the internal users.
- Monitor existing system performance. Work with vendors and internal personnel to resolve issues.
- Manage and Improve Network Infrastructure
- Strategize and plan for Network segmentation project.
- Conduct meetings and presentations to share infrastructure improvement opportunities and risks with management.
- Review information, benchmark and take corrective action to maintain service levels and deliverables.
- Manage overall financial process of team including creating and tracking against the budget, vendor contract negotiation as well as IT purchasing and invoice approval.
- Purchase and track all IT capital equipment, which requires creating bid packages, presenting recommendation for approval, and monitoring the implementation to ensure that the project comes in on-time and on-budget.
- Schedule and coordinate network maintenance and system upgrades with affiliated IT Teams and/or third-party vendors which includes activities such as installing service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
- Understand Corporate IT Teams security policy, procedures, and tools and develop implementation plans and monitoring activities ensure compliance.
- Support the Palo Alto environment. This includes reviewing firewall change requests, validating rules and policy changes, and working with SME to execute.
- Performs other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
- Lead and Manage Organization
- Manage Field Service team which includes end user Level 2 support of all technical issues.
- Develop staff for growth opportunities including the setting of goals and performance reviews.
Job Knowledge & Skills:
- Bachelor degree in Network Engineering or Computer Science related field. With 7-10 years of relevant work experience and 2-3 years of direct supervisory experience. OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience.
- Demonstrated experience of providing network support.
- High-level written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to modify communication style both formal and informal to match the appropriate level of the audience targeted. Requires strong understanding of the impact of a message on the organization or customer.
- Knowledge of Azure and JIRA is helpful
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
- Must be able to explain difficult concepts to non-technical users.
- Must be able to travel up to 15% in United States, Canada or Mexico.
- Knowledge of Spanish is helpful but not required.
