Position Type: Seasonal Part-time

Pay Range: $13.24 - $16.55/hour.

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a Full-time Seasonal Driver in Warrenton and Culpeper,

About this opportunity:

Qualified candidate will drive a Salvation Army vehicle in order to transport passengers and Red Kettle equipment to bell ringing locations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provides transportation for bell ringers to kettle sites and the Corps.
  • Picks-up Angel Tree donations from various sites for transport to warehouse.
  • Picks-up and delivers miscellaneous items as needed.
  • Drives carefully and observes/complies with all traffic signs and road/weather conditions to ensure the safety of passengers.
  • Parks vehicle in a safe and clearly marked parking space.
  • Locks vehicle doors when vehicle is not in use.
  • Fuels vehicle in accordance with state gasoline regulations and The Salvation Army standards.
  • Logs all mileage on standard forms; ensures the accuracy and completeness of the same.
  • Arrives at destination according to schedule or telephones ahead when severe delays occur.
  • Maintains control of passenger activities by prohibiting unsafe or non-Christian behavior.

Other Responsibilities:


  • Records time for kettle pickup.
  • May give relief to Bell Ringers to take their 15-minute breaks by ringing the bell at a kettle site.
  • Washes and cleans vehicle regularly.
  • Performs other related work as required.

What we are looking for in you:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. and
  • two (2) years of experience operating an automotive vehicle; OR
  • any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Work involves driving a vehicle where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with long distance trips or heavy traffic.
