Pay Range: $63,110 - $78,887

About this opportunity:

Plans, coordinates, supervises, evaluates and participates in the administration of a broad range of legal documents requiring paralegal oversight to support the Texas Division specializing estate and trust estate gifts, employment matters and commercial contracts. Serves as liaison with legal counsel and provides paralegal assistance between Legal Counsel, Governmental Agencies, Divisional Headquarters and Territorial Headquarters.  Assists all field offices with training/knowledge of the proper administration of legal documents. May supervise and coordinate activities of support staff. 

 

Key responsibilities:

  • General Paralegal Responsibilities
  • Paralegal Responsibilities specific to Estate/Probate, Employment matters, Commercial Contracts, Internal Liaison Responsibilities, External Liaison Responsibilities.
  • Other Responsibilities: including but not limited to, maintaining a legal document management database and supervising the maintenance of an organized system for collecting, maintaining, and transmitting all legal records and correspondence. 

What we are looking for in you:

 

  • Associate Degree from an accredited college or university in paralegal studies or equivalent formal paralegal education with a Paralegal Certification is required with a Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies preferred and Three years’ progressively responsible paralegal work experience with specialized experience in estate/probate, employment law and contract administration are required with supervisory experience preferred, or Any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

  • Valid State Drivers License
  • Paralegal or Legal Assistant Certification is required

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively. Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing including the providing of clear instructions to employees. Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and time constraints. Duties are usually performed seated.  Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.). Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Work may require occasional travel where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
