Driver & Custodian

Location: St Augustine Worship Center/St Augustine, FL

Position Type: Regular Part-Time

Pay Range: $12.00 - $12.41/ Hour.

About this opportunity:

Drives a Salvation Army vehicle to pick up and transport donated goods and other supplies. Maintains the office building, grounds and the officer quarters and grounds as needed. General custodial cleaning and office maintenance, including all vehicles.

Driver duties:

 

• Drives, delivers, picks up any items needed such as food, general supplies, Christmas/Seasonal equipment, and Angel Tree Gifts,

 

• Responsible for cleanliness, safety, and security of the vehicle

 

• Schedules routine maintenance of The Salvation Army vehicles

 

• Washes and cleans vehicle regularly.

 

• Picks-up and delivers miscellaneous items as needed.

 

• Supports agency mission and program mission and goals throughout the year.

 

• Drives carefully and observes/complies with all traffic signs and road/weather conditions to ensure the safety of passengers.

 

• Fuels all vehicles in accordance with state gasoline regulations and The Salvation Army standards.

 

• Logs all mileage on standard forms; ensures the accuracy and completeness of the same.

 

• Arrives at destination according to schedule or telephones ahead when severe delays occur.

 

• Maintains control of passenger activities by prohibiting unsafe or non-Christian behavior.

 

Custodial Duties:

 

• General office cleaning for all offices, bathrooms, and kitchen.  Mopping floors, vacuuming, disinfecting common areas and chapel on a regular basis.

 

• Responsible for all property lawn care.

 

• Keeps maintenance log on all air filters, fridge temperature, sanitization, and vehicles.

 

Emergency Disaster Duties:

 

• Be available to deploy where assigned during a disaster.

 

• Maintain Disaster Vehicles, ensuring they are ready to be deployed at a moment’s notice.

 

• Drives people and supplies as needed during times of disaster work

What we are looking for in you:

 

High School Diploma or G.E.D.

 

and

 

Two years experience operating an automotive vehicle,

 

or

 

any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

Work is performed in a normal office environment and/or outside and work involves driving a vehicle where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with long distance trips or heavy traffic.
