Position Type:     Volunteer and Special Events Coordinator – Regular Full-Time

Pay Range:         $17.54 - $26.31/hour

About this opportunity:

Key responsibilities:

  • Manages volunteer and staff bell-ringing activities for Red Kettles, as well as community outreach activities with Collier County schools and other organizations. Identifies and maintains a list of volunteer opportunities within Collier County.  Recruits, trains, coordinates, and monitors the work of volunteers ensuring ample staff to meet program needs; prepares records and reports regarding the same.

 

  • Under the direction of the Director of Development oversees, plans, and coordinates special events.  Provides administrative detail and on-line record-keeping of all special events and volunteer activities for the Development Department.

 

  • This position requires a flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends.  Requires an outgoing, detail-oriented, event-planning professional who can form/build vendor, community, and donor relationships with an awareness of the Development Department’s overall fundraising goals.

 

 

What we are looking for in you:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or a related Business field, and

 

  • four (4) years progressively responsible experience in public relations developing and coordinating special events and volunteer relations or

 

  • any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

 

Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.

 

Duties are usually performed seated.  Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.

 

Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
