Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced architect to drive modernization efforts across the organization and work with a small team of technologists to design and implement solutions across a host of domains.

The ideal candidate will be motivated, proactive, work well on a team, and independently. Most important, the candidate will have a track record of leading successful modernization efforts throughout an organization.

This position will work across technology domains, with a heavy focus on Azure Cloud environments, to design and implement employee-facing technology solutions that ensure efficient, secure, and stable operations for the enterprise.

Please note this position is ON-SITE at our Headquarters in Washington, D.C. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Technology Architecture: Design efficient and secure solutions that align with business needs and advance the organization’s goals.
  • Design and update the organization’s technology modernization roadmap. Retire legacy solutions and replace them with more scalable, cost-effective, and cloud-based solutions.
  • Develop and maintain cloud standards, best practices, and templates for a range of technology solutions. Solutions include network operations, information security, data management and storage, and identity management.
  • Lead innovation efforts to create efficient solutions to business problems using advanced technologies where appropriate.
  • Technology Engineering: Lead the implementation of the modernization roadmap with efficient and high-quality execution. Partner with the operations teams to ensure efficient and stable operations and continuous improvement.
  • Change Management: Lead engineering and operations change management. Drive project and program planning across the engineering and operational teams.  
  • Ensure that technical skills are kept up to date and maintain awareness of new developments in technology that would benefit the organization.

 

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years’ advanced experience and knowledge of IT operations, including networking, virtualization, identity, security, business continuity, disaster recovery, data platforms, and governance.
  • Verifiable professional experience in Azure administration.
  • Expertise in designing cloud and hybrid solutions that run on Azure.
  • Expertise in designing, implementing, and managing data storage solutions, business continuity solutions, and infrastructure solutions.
  • Experienced in Azure development and DevOps processes.
  • Expertise in Palo Altos Firewalls.
  • Expertise in Meraki Switches and Cisco VPNs.
  • Experience using Monday or a similar product for project tracking.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert a plus.
