Position Overview:

 

The Vice President of Finance will play a critical role in shaping and executing the financial strategy of the organization, as well as ensuring compliance, accuracy, and the efficient management of financial resources. The ideal candidate is a finance professional with extensive experience in financial management, accounting, and tax compliance, coupled with strong leadership and strategic planning abilities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the necessary financial policies, processes, internal controls, and systems to ensure accurate financial reporting; compliance with legal, regulatory, tax, and organizational requirements; and safeguarding the organization’s financial assets.
  • Partner cross-functionally to understand the business transactions and ensure that transactional activity is recorded in compliance with GAAP and IRS requirements.
  • Oversee and manage the full cycle accounting calendar, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close accuracy and deadlines.
  • Identify, assess, and manage financial risks and propose and implement risk mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with financial institutions and manage banking activities. 
  • Lead a team of about 15 involved in all areas of accounting: cash, investments, accounts payable, revenue, receivables, payroll, fixed assets, reconciliations, financial reporting, and tax filings.
  • Coordinate and manage external audits.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field or equivalent experience commensurate with the role; CPA required.
  • 10–12+ years of relevant experience in financial management, with significant experience in accounting and tax compliance.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with a track record of effectively leading and developing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, not-for-profit tax compliance, and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience with financial software and systems, including ERP systems and financial modeling tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
