SUMMARY: This position will sell all Wheeler Fleet Solutions products and services to current and prospective customers in a competitive business-to-business selling environment. The position is accountable for maximizing profitable sales growth within a defined territory, by growing share within existing customers, and by acquiring new customers. They must present and represent our company values and market positioning.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Solicit, present product, and sell to new and existing customers daily.
  • Prospecting and qualify new accounts from a variety of lead sources daily.
  • Plan for, and learn from, sales calls.
  • Execute sales calls by understanding the needs and wants of customers and matching them with Wheeler provided solutions. Overcome objections as needed.
    • Follow-up after, take action on, and document (in CRM) every sales call.
    • Be accountable for managing any customer support activities.
    • Productively use product literature and other available information with customers as a part of the sales process.
    • Work as a team with different departments or segments within the company including Inside Sales staff on customer issues, assisting in account development, and regional development.
    • Manage time and schedule to achieve regular communication with peers and management.
  • Utilize inside sales reporting programs and forecasting tools
  • Comply with established company policies and procedures.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
    • or an additional 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree
  • Have knowledge of, and commercial proficiency with presenting, the products and brands Wheeler represents.
  • Demonstrated track record of selling value (as opposed to price/discount-based sales process).
  • Up to 80% travel to customer sites, company meetings, and industry events: Ability to travel Monday through Friday every week and occasional weekend and trade show travel - travel is approximately 80% within Territory.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, autonomous and self-motivated with an ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate in a concise manner with internal and external customers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, CRM, and ERP systems
  • Must be able to thrive in a group / team environment.
  • Candidates must be able to successfully pass background, motor vehicle (must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and a safe driving record) and drug screen checks when necessary, travel overnight including within territory, to conferences, training and sales meetings.
  • Proven multi-tasking skill set.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience covering a multi-state territory
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated achievement of business development and sales success. Demonstrates an aggressive sales attitude.
