Shifts/Availability: Various

Rate: $13.50-$20.40

 

About the YMCA of Greater Brandywine: The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW), an association of eight YMCAs serving Chester County, is a non-profit organization committed to nurturing the potential of every child, promoting healthy living and fostering social responsibility through life-changing programs for all. 
 

Position Purpose: The Kennett Area YMCA is looking for enthusiastic, fitness-focused staff members to instruct group exercise classes. Instructors needed for Les Mills BODYPUMP. Early morning shifts available on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Multiple certifications is a plus!

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct group exercise classes and aid in a safe, thorough, courteous and professional manner 
  • Follow YMCA of Greater Brandywine Group Exercise best practices
  • Be a positive YMCA role model with an enthusiastic attitude 
  • All scheduled classes will be held and coverage secured as needed 
  • Classes will start and end on time 
  • Greet participants and learn their names 
  • Identify your participants’ limitations and adapt your classes and/or provide modifications accordingly 
  • Properly and safely utilize all equipment associated with your class 
  • Promote a healthy lifestyle 
  • Attend advanced training workshops that are offered throughout the year by YMCA of Greater Brandywine or other YMCAs 
  • Participate in special events and open houses throughout the year 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor 
     

Qualifications: 

  • Must be 18 years of age or older 
  • At least 1 year of participation in group exercise class(es) required 
  • Possess and maintain at least one Group Exercise certification from a nationally accredited organization 
  • Must be willing and able to sub various shifts in addition to teaching a weekly class
