Job Title: Family Fun Waterpark Coordinator
Branch: West Chester YMCA
Pay Class: Part Time
Shifts/Availability: Various/Up to 40 hours per week
Rate: $16.00
About the YMCA of Greater Brandywine: The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW), an association of eight YMCAs serving Chester County, is a non-profit organization committed to nurturing the potential of every child, promoting healthy living and fostering social responsibility through life-changing programs for all.
Position Purpose: The West Chester YMCA is looking for an experienced individual to assume the Aquatic Coordinator leadership role, including administrative, programmatic and delivery of aquatic programs in accordance with YMCA program quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Create lasting memories for kids of all ages
- Plan, organize and lead fun water activities
- Bring arts and crafts, fun and games and other playful activity ideas for the waterpark and surrounding play area.
- Daily focus on continuous amusement of kids and families
- Hire, train and supervise aquatic program staff
- Ensure aquatic team is providing quality programs and excellent member service
- Develop and market aquatic program promotions
- Organize and maintain schedules and records including attendance records and progress reports
- Maintain a clean and risk-free environment and escalate safety/risk concerns with appropriate urgency
- Communicate effectively and timely with program participants and parents
- Ensure all children are picked up by parent/guardian
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
- Prior knowledge and minimum two years’ experience in aquatics, 3 years preferred
- At least 18 years of age or older
- High School diploma or GED
- Demonstrate ability to develop and teach aquatic skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
