Shifts/Availability: Weekends Only
Rate: $13.00-$14.00
About the YMCA of Greater Brandywine: The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW), an association of eight YMCAs serving Chester County, is a non-profit organization committed to nurturing the potential of every child, promoting healthy living and fostering social responsibility through life-changing programs for all.
Position Purpose: The Child Watch Associate is responsible for providing a safe and caring environment for children while in YMCA care. The Birthday Party Associate works with their supervisor to create a fun and engaging birthday at the YMCA. Engages with parents and children in a positive way in both Child Watch and during birthday parties to further the mission of the YMCA of Greater Brandywine.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the safety and whereabouts of the children in the group at all times, providing a safe, interactive program.
- Maintain a clean and risk-free room arrangement.
- Maintain records, including, (but not limited to): accident and incident reports, sign in/out
sheets, attendance records.
- Greet parents and children daily using names in all interactions.
- Report and/or direct parental concerns to supervisor.
- Use positive, age-appropriate behavior management tools, including redirection and positive reinforcement, using the Y voice at all times.
- Ensure compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- Experience with children preferred
- Obtain and maintain all additional new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
