Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or BS in Mechanical Engineering or engineering related field.
  • 15 years maintenance experience with high school diploma, or minimum of 3 years paper industry experience with an engineering background.
  • Must understand interrelationships of process flows, mechanical operation of equipment and be able to work effectively with management and hourly personnel across the mill.

The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for managing:

National Board "R" Stamp Weld Repair Program

  • Monitor all code welding being done by both PCA and contractors to ensure quality and

compliance with the applicable Code Standards.

  • Manage Code weld repairs being performed by PCA.
  • Define scope of work.
  • Correspond with the Authorized Inspector for approval (FM Global)
  • Identify base metal and replacement parts for item to be repaired.
  • Assemble repair packet
  • Repair Traveler and Documentation
  • Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) Documentation (Hydro - Die Penetrant).
  • Prepare R-l form and submit to the National Board.
  • Inspecting, receiving and documenting certified material (welding electrodes, any boiler,
  • pressure vessel or power piping pressure parts etc.).
  • Monitor and document welder’s continuity records
  • Train, certify, / and maintain documentation for NDE Procedures. (Die Penetrant)
  • Renew "R" Stamp every 3 years with the National Board and demonstrate program to the
  • Authorized Inspection Agency (FM Global) annually.

MIDAS

  • Update and monitor inspection reports and operation and manufacturers data on over 600 items mill wide.

State Structural Steel Welding

  • Coordinate Re-Certifications of all certified welders
  • Monitor and document Welders Continuity Records

Safety Valves

  • Schedule and coordinate annual testing.
  • Schedule and coordinate annual change out and rebuilds.
  • Document in CMMS and MIDAS
  • Review with FM Global Annually

Tank Integrity Program

  • Monitor Monthly Visual Inspections (Basic Care Rounds done by PCA operators)
  • Schedule Formal Inspections and repairs done by Certified inspector’s
  • Document Informal UT Inspections done by PCA
  • Document in MIDAS
  • Review with FM Global Annually

Pressure Vessel Inspections

  • Perform periodic visual and UT inspections
  • Document in CMMS and MIDAS
  • Review with FM Global Annually
  • Update and keep current all PTOs Mill wide

Perform miscellaneous NDE

  • Die Penetrant (PT)
  • Magnetic Particle (MT)
  • Ultrasonic Thickness (UT)

Power Dept. Annual Outages

  • Oversee contractor work on night shift or as needed on day shift
  • Quality Control on night shift or as needed on day shift

Maintenance Roll

  • Supervise maintenance crews
  • Fill for salaried vacations
