Permit Technician

Tuff Shed is recruiting for an experienced Permit Technician to work with outside agencies, responsible for acquiring building permits and providing excellent and efficient services to our customers.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A SUCCESSFUL TUFF SHED PERMIT TECHNICIAN?

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with building departments and officials within those departments as the liaison between Tuff Shed and building department
• Know and understand local building codes as they pertain to our product
• Represent Tuff Shed, as needed, in hearings with planning departments with variance applications
• Review, submit, and retrieve permit related documentation for sales consultants to/from planning and building departments
• Ensure placement of building follows set back regulations
• Track permit progress through planning and building department
• Obtain permit and documentation, distribute and review with sales and management
• Assist management in meeting building officials on site
• Understand and meet the needs of the customer; recognizing special needs and recommending appropriate upsells

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience with permitting preferred
• Proven experience working in a construction or building department environment
• Ability to effectively speak to and present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and employees
• Must be able to travel in state at least 70% of the time
• Must possess a current valid driver's license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report
