Job Title: E-Commerce Book Supervisor        

                                      

About the Position 

Manages productivity and inventory of the E-Commerce Book department.  Supervises staff and monitors the workflow and daily task planning.

 

Pay Range: $22.50/hour 

 

Essential Functions:

Monitor productivity of Book Scanners and Listers and addresses any performance issues with the assistance of the Assistant Manager and/or Manager.

Assist in hiring and training of staff.

Prepare department reports and spreadsheets, including sales and performance tracking.

Effectively perform daily listings/uploads of ISBN and non-ISBN books.

Effectively describe books in book-industry terminology and grade the condition of books according to industry standards.

Effectively research values and manage inventory. 

Perform research of items scanned and/or collected.

Respond to customer inquiries; provide information via email, phone or in person.

Maintain department standards and hold staff accountable.

Manage supplies inventory.

Maintain online marketplace rating of at least 98%.

Maintain a clean and orderly processing area.

Follow all Loss Prevention guidelines and measures.

Upholds safe work practices in support of a safety culture through awareness and observation; assist in safety training of employees; reports any potential hazards or accidents.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

Education: High School or equivalent.

Experience: Knowledge of E-commerce book processes is preferred.  Minimum 1 year supervisory experience.

Specific Skills/Knowledge/Licenses:  Able to read, write, and speak English clearly and fluently. Ability to create a team environment.

Excellent computer and Internet skills, including rapid & accurate keyboarding.  Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel. Ability to provide good customer service with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

 

Essential Physical Abilities:

Standing for long periods of time. Lifting and carrying 35-50 pounds; developed fine motor control (grasp, handle, manipulate objects with fingers. Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing; climbing ladders. Able to travel across a variety of surfaces (stairs, ramps, uneven terrain).Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a wide variety of people, including those with limited English skills.

Working Conditions:

Warehouse and office environment, moderate noise level, exposure to dust.  Must be able to work a flexible schedule. This role may require travel to other locations.
