About the YMCA of Greater Brandywine: The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW), an association of eight YMCAs serving Chester County, is a non-profit organization committed to nurturing the potential of every child, promoting healthy living and fostering social responsibility through life-changing programs for all.  
 
Position Purpose: The Advanced Art Specialist will be responsible for leading creative workshops, creating curriculums, and fostering a supportive environment where individuals can express themselves through various high-level artistic expressions. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of advanced art and a passion for empowering individuals through artistic exploration. 

 
Responsibilities: 

 

  • Plans, organizes and leads specific art classes/ clinics for all participants. 
  • Leads with enthusiasm and positive motivation in program. 
  • Organizes and maintains art program records including, but not limited to: attendance records, rosters, etc. 
  • Manages all equipment. 
  • Maintains a clean and risk-free environment. 
  • Communicates effectively and timely with program participants and parents. 
  • Ensures all children are picked up by a parent. 
  • Promotes other YMCA programs by handing out brochures, answering questions, or referral to appropriate person. 
  • Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications: 

 

  • Experience in leading art workshops, classes, or community-based art programs, with a strong understanding of instructional and facilitation techniques. 
  • Passion for fostering creativity, artistic expression, and inclusivity within a community setting. 
  • Commitment to the YMCA's values of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. 
  • Obtain and maintain all new hires certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
