Position Purpose: The Advanced Art Specialist will be responsible for leading creative workshops, creating curriculums, and fostering a supportive environment where individuals can express themselves through various high-level artistic expressions. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of advanced art and a passion for empowering individuals through artistic exploration.
Responsibilities:
- Plans, organizes and leads specific art classes/ clinics for all participants.
- Leads with enthusiasm and positive motivation in program.
- Organizes and maintains art program records including, but not limited to: attendance records, rosters, etc.
- Manages all equipment.
- Maintains a clean and risk-free environment.
- Communicates effectively and timely with program participants and parents.
- Ensures all children are picked up by a parent.
- Promotes other YMCA programs by handing out brochures, answering questions, or referral to appropriate person.
- Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience in leading art workshops, classes, or community-based art programs, with a strong understanding of instructional and facilitation techniques.
- Passion for fostering creativity, artistic expression, and inclusivity within a community setting.
- Commitment to the YMCA's values of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
- Obtain and maintain all new hires certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
